may be, by such amount as he may determine, not
exceeding—
{a) in the case of a supplementary estimate such as
is mentioned in subsections (1) or (2) of this
section, the amount appearing from that esti
mate to represent any excess of expenditure
over revenue or of revenue over expenditure,
as the case may be;
{h) in the case of a supplementary estimate such as
is mentioned in subsection (3) of this section, the
amount appearing from that estimate to repre
sent—
(i) the difference between any excess of
expenditure over revenue which would have
existed but for any such change as is
mentioned in the said subsection (3) and any
excess of expenditure over revenue which will
exist having regard to that change; or
(ii) the difference between any excess of
revenue over expenditure which would have
existed but for that change and any excess
of revenue over expenditure which will exist
having regard to that change; or
(iii) the sum of any excess of expenditure
over revenue wdiich w r ould have existed but
for that change and any excess of revenue
over expenditure which will exist having
regard to that change; or
(iv) the sum of any excess of revenue over
« expenditure which would have existed but
for that change and any excess of expenditure
over revenue which will exist having regard
to that change.
(6) If the Secretary of State, under the last pre
ceding subsection, at the time of approving a supple
mentary estimate, makes any increase or decrease in
any sum, the aggregate of the grants which he may make
to the Corporation under this Act in respect of the
accounting period to which that estimate relates, may
equal, but shall not exceed, the amount to which that
sum is so increased or decreased, as the case may be.
