After Compliments,
We, the undersigned, have the honour to submit our
request, explaining it as follows:-
As we have vital interests in India, which cannot be
avoided, and as transport has become so hard to obtain,
we request Your Highness to kindly asx tne authorities
concerned to arrange regular air communications twice
q we oic > or at le^st once a week to fill up the gap
caused by the lack of transport. We hope that Your
Highness, due to the kindness which you have always
shown to your people, and your efforts to oetter their
lot, will leave no stone unturned to remove all obstacles
in the path of our interests.
We also take this opportunity to request Your Highness
that the Post Office be persuaded to allow mail to leave
whenever cars are available between Kuwait & Iraq, apart
from the system followed at present, i.e. that of des-
patchiry mail twice a week, as this delays trade commu
nications between tne merchants of your subjects ?.nd the
ceople in other countries. This delay^cause* * some damage
to us,’ as mail between Iraq and London does not take
more than two days, letters between Kuwait and -^asra
take 4 or 5 days, and this is due to limited days for
carrying mail between Iraq and Kuwait and vice-versa.
We therefore repeat our request bagging Your Highness
to kindly consider it favourably.
