Copy of a letter from the British Government of India’s Envoy to Persia [Iran], Brigadier-General Sir John Malcolm, to HM Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary A diplomatic representative who ranks below an ambassador. The term can be shortened to 'envoy'. to Persia, Sir Harford Jones, of 22 August 1810. The letter encloses a copy of a letter and its enclosures (not included in this item) from Stephen Babington, in charge of the Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. at Bushire, containing the papers of Jean Robbio, a French subject apprehended at Bushire.

The letter was enclosed in Jones’s Dispatch No. 23, which was received on 6 February 1811.
