A letter, numbered 4, from HM Ambassador to Persia [Iran], Sir Gore Ouseley, to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company. The letter encloses copies of Ouseley's dispatches, numbered 8, 9, and 10, to the Governor General of the Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. of Fort William. The letter reports recent cash flow concerns and his acceptance of a loan offer from the Minister of the Home Department, Amin ad-Doulah.
