Notes of messages and information collected regarding events at the Court of Persia [Iran] from 28 March 1822.
The notes contain intelligence of proceedings at Court concerning the issue of delayed subsidy payments to Persia, as well as the possible departure of Henry Willock, HM Chargé d’Affaires, and an alleged threat to Willock from the Shah [Fath-‘Ali Shāh Qājār].
The notes were enclosed in Willock’s letter to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company dated 27 April 1822 (IOR/L/PS/9/69/100).
