Letter from HM Chargé d'Affaires to Persia [Iran], Henry Willock, in Tehran, to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the East India Company, of 24 June 1825, which was received on 8 October 1825. Willock reports that he had attached Dr John McNeill to serve as physician to the subsequently postponed mission of the East India Company Envoy to Persia, Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir (referred to as Lieutenant-Colonel Macdonald in this item). The letter also originally enclosed a copy of a letter from Willock to McNeill dated 5 June 1825 (now catalogued as IOR/L/PS/9/70/19).
