(Hi) Telegraphic Personnel .—Generally speaking, the
Persian telegraphic personnel are at present a long way
from being efficient. Their knowledge of their telegraphic
apparatus is purely superficial and very few of them are
capable of carrying out even minor repairs to their
instruments. There is one Senior Telegraphist for the
whole Province, who is specially detailed to supervise the
telegraphic apparatus, and one inspector of telegraph
lines. The total number of trained telegraphic personnel
in the whole of Khurasan is approximately 90.
(iv) The Annual Budget for the Telegraph Department
of Khurasan is
