It is worthy of note that—
(i) there is continual enmity between the Karim Khan
section and the Shukruliah Kh5,n section.
(H) Qaid Muhanimad Ali and his followers are very friend-
ly with the Sisakhtis under Mulla Qobad and often
carry out raids in conjunction with them.
?? ,r Ahmadis have comparatively few mounted men
and should consequently be easier to deal with as far as the pS>
tection of the road is concerned, especially as they invariab'lv
attack caravans at certain well-known points. Their favourite
localities for robbing operations are .— ravounte
( *). In the Yazd district a ud along the Yazd-Isfahan road.
(») Between Aminabad and Isfahan, especially near
. aksud Beg Asiab thah (midway between Qumi-
sheh and MehTar), Mehiar and the Urchin pass
(m) Gai^-i-Cir (midway between Aminabad and Yazd-
i-Khast) which they reach via Hanna and a pass
through the hills about 8 miles west of Yazd-i-Khast.
{iv) Be tween Bijdaneh and Tarseh, which they reach via
Heghirdu (where they usually halt for the night)
and through the hills 5 miles west of the road, either
by the lang-i-Allah-ed-Douleh or theTang-i-Tarseh.
(v) Between Tul-i-Siah and Bid Alam, which they reach
vta Deghirdu and the Tang-i-Bld Alam.
(v*) QuB Kush pass and Kuh-i-Jangi (3 miles south of
Khan-i-Khurreh). Of recent years they have not
been robbing in this locality.
(m) dang-j-Mian Mulla (between Mashhad-i-Murghab and
Khan-i-Kargun). They very rarely rob in this locality.
The Boir Ahmadis do not carry out their raids after the
yaauqais have taken up their summer quarters and their rod-
Ding operations are consequently confined to certain periods of

In the spring .—After the snow on the passes (particularly
on the Gardan-i-Bezan) has melted and until the
