The map shows the region around Nusratabad [Zābol, Iran], along the border between Persi [Iran] and Afghanistan. It shows settlements, and highlights mountainous regions and marshland. The border is highlighted in red and blue.
Red serial numbers correspond with lists of villages, which can be found on folios 43v-45r of the accompanying report.
The scale is approximately 1 inch to 8 miles. It is signed ‘G. W. Brazier-Creagh, Surgeon Major, A. M. S., In charge Seistan Mission’. It bears a stamp which reads ‘Intelligence Division. 14 Dec 1898’.
The map was surveyed by Asghar Ali Beg, KB, Survey of India. It bears the printing statements ‘Reg. No. 169, Print., I.–Aug.98.–123.’, ‘Litho., S.I.O., Calcutta.’, and ‘Topo. No. 2189’.
