The correspondence is mainly concerned with the rising of the Imam of Oman, Salim bin Rashid al-Kharusi, against the Sultan of Muscat and Oman, Taimur bin Fayṣal bin Turki al-Bu Sa‘idi, in 1915. British officials offered to interfere between the Sultan and the Imam Government in order to reach a peaceful agreement between the two parties.
