These folios consist of a summary of a letter from HM Minister to Persia, Charles Augustus Murray, dated 25 June 1857, sent from Kermanshah, Persia [Iran] reporting news from Persia, including: the Shah of Persia marrying a lady of his Hareem in order to legitimise a son whom this woman had borne to the Shah, and whom the Shah intended to proclaim as heir apparent; the Sedr Azeem having succeeded in obtaining the dismissal of Azeez Khan, the Commander in Chief; and disturbance in Tabreez [Tabriz], with people refusing to pay the contributions levied by the Governor, the Sedr Azeem’s brother.
