(about F.s.20,000 per annum). The Treasury agreed
to accept a moiety of the annual rental as a charge
on Imperial revenues. Building operations were
accordingly begun and in 1925 p4S.50,000 hau already
been advanced by the Sheikh and an additional -‘S.l£>000
expended by the G-overnment of India on materials] in
anticipation of a further advance^ *#en the Sheikh
was captured by the Persian Government and carried
off under arrest to Tehran where he still remains,,

given to the Sheikh on their behalf in the Political
