About this record
- Content
This map depicts the south-eastern Arabian Peninsula, with several lines in crayon and pencil marking prospective lines for the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Saudi Arabia.
The blue line represents the 'blue line' (the frontier which marked the Ottoman Government's renunciation of its claims to Bahrain and Qatar, laid down in the non-ratified Anglo-Ottoman Convention of 1913 and redefined and adopted in the Anglo-Ottoman Convention of the following year). The green and brown lines represent boundaries proposed by the British Government and the lines in pencil represent other considered boundary lines. The outermost line, drawn in red crayon, is marked as 'Ibn Saud's [‘Abd al-‘Azīz bin ‘Abd al-Raḥmān bin Fayṣal Āl Sa‘ūd] Red Line'.
