I am now in receipt of a telegraphic summary
: of the estimate of the cost of the new telegraph line
from bunder Abbas to German via Tarum and Saidabad.

The reasons assigned for the increase in the
cost of the new line in comparison with the cost of

the existing line are:-
(1) The increased length, viz., M2 miles against
264 miles.
(2) The rates for transport and labour having
considerably risen.
(3) The rate of conversion of Kraus for
rupees
Indian silver coin also widely used in the Persian Gulf.
