Reference correspondence ending with Foreign
Memorandum N o. D.14969-M.E^/ 44, dat ed the 2 8th September,
1944, on the 'subject libove noted.
2. Money in question is held by the Bank which has
now enquired if it may communicate with the drawers of
the bills at their last known addresses with a view to
ascertaining if they are still in existence. It would
apply to thjs office to make remittances to such firms
as it is able to trace. It also inquires in particular.
whether it may remit to Messrs. Pieter Schoen & Zoon, Limited,
Zaandam, Holland, the sum of £47.14.0 held on their account.
3 . Grateful for orders as to whether requests of
bank may be acceded to.
4 . A list giving particulars of the amounts at the
credit of enemy firms or of firms in countries occupied
by the enemy is enclosed.
