itirtlier fighting ensued at intervals with losses m both sides,
but at the end of August it was reported that the dispute had
been settled.
On August 8th His Highness received news that the Ban!
Ruwahah had captured the fort of 3i k jah froL the Ban! Jabir.
His Highness sent hlo son Saiyid hadir to oeL.ayil with 30 bags
of rice and 6,000 cartridges. The dispute was settled at the
end of August, and Sai^id Kadir placed 00 of his ten in the
fort of Sijjah to heep the peace. The total casualties dvirlng
the feud were 554, and 10,000 date trees were destroyed# Saiyid
Kadir returned to Muscat on September ^ord and a salute of 11
guns v.as fired in his honour.

was arrived at through the medium of an agent whom His Highness
