This sketch map depicts the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula, from Ras-al Khaimah [Ra's al-Khaymah] in the north-east to Salalah in the south-east, with place names handwritten in ink. A red-dotted line marks an interpretation of the interior boundary of the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman. The map accompanies a preceding page of printed notes on the boundary of Muscat, prepared by the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. and Consul of Muscat.
