With reference to article 4 of the Political Agreement of the 5th
June, 1935, between His Iwajesty 1 s Government in the united Kingdom and
the Anglo-Persian Oil Go, Ltd., arising out of the Concession granted to
the company by the Shaikh of Qatar, which Concession has now been
transferred to this Company, I have the honour to request the approval
of h.'C.G. to the designation of Mr. E.7. Packer as the Local Representative
of the Company in Qatar. Mr. Packer is the local Manager of Petroleum
Concessions Ltd., (the parent Company of Petroleum Development (^atar)
Ltd. ) at Bahrain. Details about him were sent to Mr. Walton in my
letter of the 6th May last, which -was acknowledged by Mr. Walton in his
letter^P.Z-4089/36 of the 17th June last.
