There is a Post Office, Telegraph Office and Chappar Khaneh
at Nain, and a fair sized bazaar. The Persian Telegraph
line from Ispahan to Yezd joins in here. The water
is brackish, but good water can be obtained. Lying in
a hollow on the south-east side, 3 miles out, is Mahalleh
Nain, with extensive cultivation. Nain struck me as
being a sandy dusty place, and the glare is trying.

in charge of the road, paid by the Persian Government
