Quiet agriculturists.
Dowletabad was destroyed by hoods 2 years ago, and is

place.
Ismailabad, no houses. People come from Sadi to culti
vate here.
Sadi, 100 houses; 1 Kanat, sweet. Supplies in limited
quantities.

Kerman is famous for its carpets and shawls. There are
said to be 5,000 looms of all descriptions at work m the
.,l ac e. Carpets are exported to Tabriz, Teheran and
Constantinople, while the shawls And their way to
India. Cotton, wool, goat skins, opium and gum are
also among the exports. Lead, copper and iron are
s»id to exist in the neighbouring mountains Lhe
principal imports appear to come from India via Bander
Abbas 1 and are—sugar, tea, mirrors, glass, matches,
indigo’ candles, coffee, oil, china and porcelain ware
and cloth.
