Head of the tribe of Kurd-u-Turk (see Chapter VIII) and a
partisan of Sardar Leader of a tribe or a polity; also refers to a military rank or title given to a commander of an army or division. Jalil. Born about 1875. He has property
round the village of Isfandin, North of Sari, some of which was
confiscated in 1919-20 by the financial officials on the ground
that it was crown land. He is a whining little man with a
taste for opium and no character.
