I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your memorandum
No.82-S. of 1925 with attached correspondence.
With regard to para. 4 of your letter No.81-8. of 1925,
I beg to report as follows
The information forwarded to you under my No.245/l/l of
the 8th December 1924 was obtained by me, in the first instance,
from Shaikh Hamad bin Isa, C.S.I. When the latter gave me
the information I particularly impressed upon him the necessity
for careful verification, and did not immediately accept his
estimate.
Shaikh Hamad therefore sent for a Bahraini who has most
reliable knowledge of all the property possessed by Shaikh Isa
and other members of the family, and actually performs the
ies of a^ent for Shaikh Isa in the coil-
some of his gardens and has firsthand knowledge of the 0 e ,
being either related to, or otherwise closely connected
the actual leaseholders of them.
This individual was questioned by Shaikh Hamad in my
presence, and some trifling discrepancies in the informa
already furnished by Shaikh Hamad were rectified.
Some of the gardens I have seen myself, and fr my
knowledge of the value of similar gardens I have no reason
believe that the information given was not thoroughly reliable.
Since the receipt of your letter under reply, I have again
consulted the Deputy Ruler, Shaikh Hamad bin Isa, C.w,.I.,
assures me that there is no doubt as to the accurac,
