S.O. No. 138 of the 24th August about the
strength of the
Persian Gulf
The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.
Naval Squadron.
The Admiralty have confirmed that with
the arrival of the extra Frigate in the Gulf
it is their intention to maintain the strength
of the Squadron at two vessels in the Gulf and
one in the Gulf area, in accordance with the
present arrangements.
