at Bushire which includes the Governor's house, the flag
staff, the Residency A diplomatic office of the British Government established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. and the Persian Post Office.
Che present Resident at j^u shire is strongly in favour
of moving the Residency A diplomatic office of the British Government established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. outside Persia to either Bahrein
or Koweit - preferably Bahrein, and has given his reasons
in full to the Government of India.
The following list of points which is probably far
from comprehensive, gives some idea of the difficulties
which the Persians might make for the Resident although
at present the status quo is being correctly maintained
A. defuse permission to him and to British haval
Officers to land or embark at Bushire.
B. .Refuse permission for the continued use of the
British tireless Station at Bushire. In any case
under the general Treaty now being negotiated this
"station is to be handed over to the Persian
Government. Rapid communication between Resident
and H.Ii. ships will therefore certainly be cut off.
G. Refuse permission for continued use of private
telephone between Town and Sabzubad Residencies
