2. The position is that the existing contract with
Messrs Vickers-Armstrongs Limited for the manufacture of Vickers
Berthier guns in Indian Government factories for supply to
countries outside British India does not provide for supply to
the Bahrain Government. A representation from the Government
of India ( vide Defence Department letter to the Secretary,
Military Department,
