The map shows the area south of the border between Afghanistan and Baluchistan, from Quetta in the East to the area around Nusratabad on the border between Afghanistan and Persia [Iran] in the West.

It depicts hydrology, including the river Helmand, and includes some indication of relief.

The map is signed ‘G. W. [George Washington] Brazier-Creagh, Surgeon Major, A. M. S., In charge Seistan Mission. 1897.’
