Sir,
With reference to your letter No.P.96/27, dated the 10th
February 1927, I am directed to forward, for transmission to the
Foreign Office for their observations, a proof of the Narrative
of Aden and the South Coast of Arabia.
2. The following is a list of Treaties, Agreements, etc.,
concluded subsequent to the last edition (1909) of Aitchison’s
Treaties, the text of which does not appear to have been published
or otherwise divulged before. It is proposed to publish them in the
revised edition of the Treaties subject to the approval of His
Majesty^ Government :-
(1) Convention regarding the water supply of Aden, concluded with
the Abdali Sultan, dated the 11th April 1910 (referred to on
page 5 of the Proof).
(2) Agreement between Sultan Ghalib bin Awadhth bin Omar (the
Kaiti) and Sultan Mohsin bin Saleh bin Abdalla (the Wahidi)
dated the 22nd March 1910 (referred to on page 27 of the
Proof).
(3) Convention between Great Britain and Turkey regarding the
boundaries of Aden, dated the 9th March 1914 (referred to on
page 1 of the Proof)•
Protectorate Treaty with the Audali Sultan, dated the 19th
September 1914 (referred to on page 18of the Proof).
Agreements with the Alawi, Haushabi and Kotaibi Sheikhs -
1914-1915 (referred to on pages 22, 20 and 24 of the Proof;.
