In this letter, received 25 August 1802, Samuel Manesty, Resident at Bussora [Basra], informs Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun [Mirza Mahdi 'Ali Khan Bahadur], Native Resident at Bushire, that the Diamond has departed for Bushire, on its way to Muscat, Madras and Musulipatam [Machilipatnam], and that her Commander, Captain Robert Sheperdson [Shepherdson], has been instructed to take charge of Mirza Mehedy Ally Khaun's advices for the eastern side of India.
