A village of about 40 houses belonging to the Vakil Elected representative or attorney, acting in legal matters such as contracting marriage, inheritance, or business; a high-ranking legal official; could also refer to a custodian or administrator. -u-Daulah at Karmanshah, inhabited
by Kurds. Water plentiful from streams, and tanks whore horses can water. There is a large
garden, shady and full of fine trees, near the village. Troops can camp south of the town and
garden ; grazing good ; fitewood scarce; supplies : 400 sheep and goats.
Elevation 4,770 feet.
There is communication across country between Dostawand and Tak Postam, but no
regular route. The road skirts the low hills at Postawand, and crosses the Khaglistan road
aU mile after passing the village of Umar-Mil, 40 houses, on the right. Water plentiful,
trees and crops. It then runs over open ground towards the Kuh Parrao, reaching the Kara-
su at 7 miles and Tak Bostam at 9|. For road from river crossing, see route Karman-
shah to Sehna, via Tak Bostam and Kala * Route is practicable for all arms on a
broad front.

first two miles ; at that point go north-west over the
open plain and ascend gently. At 7) mdes reach the
summit of the low and open Gardanah Gendabad
and descend into the Bilawar valley by a good road, reaching Gendabad at 9 miles.
