Abdullah Ibn Rashid

became Sheikh of the Jebel Shammer tribe, with
X835, by the help of Amir Feysul bin Turki. He
TlLAL, his eldest son, succeeded him and ruled till his death in 1867.
Mutaab IBN Abdullah, Tiki's younger brother, succeeded but was murdered
the following year by his nephews, the sons of Tilal.
Bander, one of these nephews, assumed the Government.
MAHOMMED (ibn Abdullah) ibn Rashid, third and youngest son of the old
Abdullah, killed his nephew, Bander, and the five remaining children
of his brother Tilal, and became undisputed Amir in Hayil, in 1868. In
1886, while nominally supporting the Amir of Nejd, Abdullah bin Feysnl,
against a revolt, he carried Abdullah to Hayil practically a prisoner, and
became the de facto ruler of Nejd. He died in 1897, and was succeed
ed by his nephew.
Abdul Aziz ibn Rashid, who is the present representative of his family,
and who besides being in a chronic state of war with Koweit, owing to his
having taken up the cause of the dispossessed son of the late Sheikh 01
that place, has also to deal with the legitimatist claimant to the Amir-domo;
Nejd (Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman) which was usurped by his uncle.

Two copies of a report, marked as secret, on Koweit [Kuwait]. The report was compiled in the Intelligence Branch, Quarter Master General's Department, by Captain H H Dowding, The Essex Regiment. It was printed at the Government Central Printing Office, Simla, 1903.
The report contains information on the geography, history, politics, military strength, administration, resources, climate, and communications of Kuwait. It includes appendices on routes and prominent families in the region.
The volume also contains a number of photographs and maps:

At the rear of the volume is an index, arranged alphabetically and with reference to the original pagination (folios 26-28).
Folio references given are for the first of the two copies. The second, identical copy runs from folio 34 to 66.
