tions, dealing with the region under consideration in this
report, makes no claim to be considered exhaustive. With
a view to its practical utility and brevity it has been
purposely limited to books which have appeared during
the not too remote past, and which are most easily
accessible. Those who desire to go more deeply into the
subject of Central Asian literature will find a useful
bibliography in Lord Curzon's book “ Russia in Central
