Correspondence, minute papers, and memoranda concerning financial assistance given to the Government of Persia by the governments of Britain and Russia. The papers form part of the discussion of practical and routine aspects of transferring the money to Persia, including a proposal to switch the currency of payments from Tomans 10,000 Persian dinars, or a gold coin of that value. to Sterling.
The correspondence is principally between officials at the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. and Foreign Office but further correspondence, usually included as enclosures, comes from officials at the Treasury, British Legation in Tehran, and the Government of Persia.
