The letter is enclosing two communications that William Bruce has received from Captain Charles Pasley; note that the enclosures are dated after the date of the covering letter.
Two enclosures:
1. Letter from Captain Charles Pasley, Acting for Brigadier-General John Malcolm to William Bruce, Acting Resident at Bushire, dated 12 November 1808. It concerns supplies for the British Persian Mission and the exchange of gold coins for Eyn Piasters [piastres]. A further enclosure is included with this letter, this is a letter from Charles Pasley to Neil Benjamin Edmonstone, Secretary in the Secret, Political and Foreign Department, Fort William, Calcutta, dated 6 November 1808. It concerns the transfer of the Captain's official duties respecting Persia to Sir Harford Jones [Brydges]. In addition, it praises Jafer Ali Khan [Ja‘afar ‘Alī Khān], William Bruce and Andrew Jukes for the work they have done during the Captain's time as Acting Envoy Extraordinary to Persia.
2. Letter from Captain Charles Pasley, Acting for Brigadier-General Malcolm to William Bruce, Acting Resident at Bushire, dated 16 November 1808. It concerns the accounts of the Bushire Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. .
