The letter provides information on a loan issued by the Resident to Mahomed Hossain Khan, son of the late Navob Mehady Ali Khan [Mahdī ‘Alī Khān], so that he and his mother may make a pilgrimage to the tomb of Emam Reza [Imam Reza] at Meshed [Mashhad] in Korrasoon. It further provides instructions that the debtor's savings, deposited with the company at Bombay, are to be used as security.
