50. Of the Western Sinjerani district, which lies west of Merui and isen
closed between the Baluch-Afghan and Balueh-I eisian frontiers, I have little to
suy. Ihe country, although large in size, is sparsely inhabited, and supports but
few cattle. This district, as in the case of Ohagai and Nushki, has suffered
severely irom drought; indeed, are to believe the statements of its
inhabitants, upwards ot two-thirds of their herds have succumbed. There is no
cultivation ot importance in Western Sinjerani, except at Mirjawa, where a>
karez, starting trom the Talab river, suffices to irrigate a few hundred acre*
belonging to the Kekis. a re *
