RepoH by Munshi A term used in the Middle East, Persia and South Asia to refer to a secretary, assistant or amanuensis. Munshis were employed in the British administration in the Gulf. Ahmed Din.
1. During my stay in Seistan I have had many opportunities of talking
with the officials and, through their good will towards the British Government,
of having access to many papers in the office of the Amir (Hashmat-ul-Mulk).
2. I have procured the following statistics from these papers on the
revenue of Seistan, also the division of this revenue and the amount annually
demanded by the Persian Government from the Amir, who holds the country
on lease.
3. The gross estimate of grain is 100,000

4. The assessment of grain for revenue purposes is not made from this
gross estimate, but is calculated at 50 kharwars per plough, of which there are
estimated to be 1,876 in the country.
5. The assessment of the other products is made annually according to the
output, an average of ^th being the Amir’s share.
6. The following is the division of the grain calculated at 50 kharwars for
each plough :—
