A mined fort with the remains of the city in embryo designed by the
Persians for the capital of Seistan before the building of Nasratabad was
contemplated. , . ,
The site was abandoned, as it was found that the high wind here prevalent
covered the houses with sand almost as fast as erected. Some one or two
hundred inhabitants are still living here. These people pride themselves
in being the only lineal descendants of the great Rustam. Agiicultuie is
carried on to a great extent; in fact, the intervening surface up to Agha-
jan is completely under cultivation, the tamarisk jungles having beeu
cleared away for the purpose.— (Goldsmid, Rozario.)
Tiflak is situated on the Ali Murad or Alamdar Canal, and contains about
80 families at present. It possesses 15 ploughs of cultivable land, which
yields 540 hharwars of grain (§ wheat and £ barley) at present. The Gov
ernment revenue amounts to 180 khanvars per annum {Mania Bakhsh,
1898.)

on the road from Nasratabad to Lesh Juwain through the Naizxr, 17 miles

TUTI, or TOTI— .
A village containing over a hundred houses situated on the Slnla Kafir
Canal. There is a large area of cultivable land attached to it on which are
employed about 60 ploughs. • The annual outturn of grain ($ wheat and
£ barley) amounts to 2,160 kharwar, and the Government revenue to 720
kharwar per annum; 80 horses, 40 cattle, 200 sheep and goats, 50 donkeys.
