A water-course rising in the southern spurs of Malik Teznan and flow
ing southwards till lost in the desert.

A sand-hill and trigonometrical point about 14 miles north-east
of Saindak.
GASHTO RIVER—
Rising north of Malik Naru flows in a westerly direction past Jilejil
and is lost in the desert.

A halting-place on the northern road between Dalbandin and Amir
Chah, 82 ! miles from Amir Chah.

A grove of date palm trees, numbering perhaps 150, that lie to the
north-w r est, and about 1 mile distant, of Malik Gat. Water runs in a
small stream, appearing and disappearing for some yards, to the east of
the palm grove, and to the west and to the foot of some low bluffs that
run north and south. The water is in any quantity, though the pools
should be avoided as they are impregnated with the effluvia of camels.
Three wells have been sunk, 100 yards, west of the nala-hcd. whence
drinking water may be obtained. The water is never more than 1 foot
below the surface. There is a very thick undergrowth of pish and jhow
between the date trees.. The date trees are said to have been planted
by the Arabs when they were in possession of the country. They are
not cultivated now, and apparently sow themselves, as there are many
young trees springing up.
There are some sisi about, and black partridge were said to have
been seen in the pish. Sand grouse, common and coronetted, came
down in some numbers to the water.
A large number of camels are grazed in the vicinity when the season
is favourable.
Camping-ground .—Good and unlimited to south and west of grove of
palm trees.
Supplies. —Nil.
Fuel .—Very abundant: jhovo, pish and date trees.
Fodder. —Camel-grazing. Abundant gaz and tagaz.
Grass. — Barshok, drubh in large quantities. Dub in small quantities.

A hill in North-West Baluchistan, lying north-east of Paniham. It
is an isolated rock, after the manner of the Droogs in India, and rises
