in para, 4 vie,, tho "prevalence of peace conditions" -
since it is obvious that, of Turkish Nationalists and
Eolshoviks fill tho void which wo shall have created,
tho nuir.bor of troops which wo shall require to hold tho
shorter lino must be conditioned by the number of troops
thoy can brine against us. How do wo propose to socuro
tho prevalence of peace conditions? I would suggest to
my Colleagues that there is only one way of doing so
viz., a rovision of tho treaty of Sovros, vvhoroby, in
rotum for the formal restoration of so immense an aroa to
tho Ottoman Empire the Turlcish CoToj-nmont undertake to
grant complete autonomy to the Arabian provinces and a full
amnesty to all their inhabitants who have assisted us.
by such an agreement with Turkey wo might not only secure
peace tut also save something from the wreck cf our prestige.
