Simla, No. 75-C.-Home, dated Delhi, the 6th August 1925.
There is nothing of political importance to report for the second fortnight
of July.
An Arab deputation, believed to have been sent by Ibn-i-Saud, arrived in
Delhi on the 25th July atrd left for Bombay on the 29th. While here the
deputation stayed with Haji Abdul Ghatfar. They were the guests of honour
at a tea party given by Muhammad Ali, Mufti Kifayatullah and Ahmed Said,
at which the attitude of Ibn-i-Saud in regard to certain matters such as haj
pilgrimage, disrespect to tombs, etc., was adversely criticised.
The Muharram passed off peacefully except a minor incident of stone
throwing by some unknown person in Pahari Dhiraj on the evening of the
31st July 1925. The situation was tactfully handled and no trouble arose j
