j$-%- With reierence to trie letter from this department
of the 21st June last, No. K 8619/1101/234, regarding the
employment of Captain C.T. Hoskins as assistant to His
Majesty’s Consul at Shiraz, I am directed by the Secretary
of State for Foreign Affairs to transmit herewith, for the
information of the Secretary of State for India in Council,
a copy of a telegram from His Majesty’s Minister at Tehran
reporting the departure of Mr. A ,S. Calvert, a probationer
vice consul in the Levant A geographical area corresponding to the region around the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Consular Service, from Tehran for
Shiraz.
2. I am to request that steps may be taken to
terminate the appointment of Captain Hoskins at Shiraz at
as early a date as possible, and that this department may
be informed of the date on which this has been effected.
3. Should Viscount Peel prefer that steps for the
termination of Captain Hoskins’ appointment at Shiraz
should be taken by telegram through this department and
His Majesty’s Minister at Tehran. I am to request that the
Secretary of State may be informed as to the terms of the
instructions which Lord Peel would desire to be sent.
