Dated 10th June 1916.
Secret. Your telegram of the dth Persian
consulates. Before issuing orders we Vourd*“ ,, impress upon
you that our selections were made after very careful consider
ation of qualifications of Gough and Reunion for the posts in
question and we made them deliberately. We do not under
stand that Minister is better qualified to arrange postings
of our Officers. Kennlcn is yaoexiig packed and ready and
could arrive with escort almost as soon as Gough. Cox agrees
- vide his telegram No. 2737 of 9th June repeated to Foreign
Office.
