I am directed to refer to paragraph 3 of Mr. (now Sir J.)
ohuckhurgh 1 s letter Po*i'—41)o0, dated the 30th September 1018,
regarding the financing 13 /' the foreign Office, London, of the
Shiraz Oonsulate, and to forward a copy of a, letter from the
Accountant General, Central he venues, Io.T.A.25, dated 5 tl
April 1923 (with enclosure) which explains itself.
H will 09 observed that the charges aggregating Krans
942^.35, c 3 tailed in the Accountant General, Central Pavenues’
letter are debitable under the heeds ^Postage and Telegrams 71
and n 0ffic8 Allowance^ and, as such, form a proper charge agaisst
the Foreign Office. I am accordingly to request that the Foreign
Office may be moved to meet the expenditure in question and that
the transaction may be adjusted through the Account Current
Schedules.
3. In connection with this question of incidence, I am to
invite attention to paragraph 3 of Mr.Bray’s letter Bo.1278-Dst.
\ B„, dftsd the 2?th Septenber 1917.
