My iismediately preceding telegram.
On the receipt of letter which is presumably the
result of discussion by Council of Ministers I deemed it
advisable to seek an interview with the Minister for Foreign
Affairs in order to emphasize again the point of view of
His Majesty's Government in regard to Jask royalty and
also to clear up one or two doubtful points.
My visit was so far successful in that Minister has
consented to reconsider letter with Minister of Posts and
will favour me as soon as possible with revised views.
I have hopes that there may be modifications.
Meanwhile, as regards point 3 Minister explained that
Majlis would probably want to know what would happen after
1945. Ke suggested possibility of our handing over Jask
line and cable offices to Persian Government.
I suggested provisional extension of period. I
[should oe glad of your views on the point.
As regards (grp.undec:) I understand that even
though we are handing over (?Bunder Abbas)-Henjam line
ersian Government would like agent to be responsible for
jupkeep as they have no facilities for dealing with cables.
