January 30th 1920.
Jith reference to your letter No. P.8302 A. of the

postage stamps for Mesopotamia, I am directed by Earl Curzon
of Kedleston to state, for the information of Mr. Secretary
Montagu that, in view of the approaching peace settlement
with Turkey, His Lordship considers that the issue of a new
set of postage stamps would be inopportune at the present
juncture, and he therefore suggests that no change should be
made until the future status of Mesopotamia has been defined.
