invite your attention to the two‘telegrams from the
Resident at Aden noted in the margin, copies of which have
already been sent to you, (further copies being now
enclosed for convenience of reference) requesting the
immediate supply of arms and aiimunitipn which are required
to enable the tribes of the Aden Protectorate to meet the
aggression of the Zaidis.
2. In this connection I am to*refer to the letter
from this office No.39744 of the 9th September regarding
the supply of arms and ammunition for the Idrisi and for
other Arab tribes,and to enquire whether the arms
mentioned in the Resident's telegram No.48 of the 25th
September can be supplied by India on the terms indicated
in that letter. If so, I am to ask that i (mediate
