to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 24th
July, No.C.13401 forwarding a copy of Colonel Prideaux'e
despatch No.13 of the 9th June regarding Wahabi oenetration,
at the instigation of the Srair of Hasfca„ in Trucial Ctaan,
and to transmit to be laid before Mr. dec ret ary amery, a
copy of a letter in which the SoTemraent of India eupoort
the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. 's recoraaendation that a protest
should be made to the oultan of Nejd against theee
ingringements of the undertaking given in Article /I

records the view which ho has reached after further
consideration, that it would not be likely to serve any
useful purpose merely to communicate to Ibn baud copies
of the various agreements existing batman the British
Government and the Arab Rulers on the Persian rulf
littoral, and recommends that an attempt be made to induce
the Sultan of Nejd to repeat in the proposed new Treaty
the substance of the sixth article of the treaty of 1915.
