Letter xrorn the director of the Royal Indian Latrine,
ho.l393-M., dated Bombay, the 13th March 1926.
In continuation of my letter ho. 389-h. of January
20th, I beg to attach copiee of correspondence between
myself and the Port Director, Basra.
This correspondence was discussed at a meeting of
the Advisory Committee held on Thursday March 4th, 1926.
The Advisory Committee strongly recommend that thjs
arrangement of tending the lights in the

ment with them. The Advisory Committee have asked me to
ask for the sanction of the Government of India to the
change.

Lighting department.
We have been paying Hs.3,50,000 a year for the
"Lawrence" but since the inauguration of the Lighting Fund
we have to pay three-fourths of tne total charges of
maintenance for the vessel, so the economy is obvious.
Moreover the "hearchuswas specially built for this
purpose.
Ine Advisory Committee also recommend that our
present buoy depot atHenjam shall be abolished ana we have
our work done at Fao in the Port Directorate depot.
