f? -37 Ho. 10 67-K. , dated the 26th August 1923, the Lighting^;
Buoying Service would be required to meet only
Bs. 3,40,655 fi.e., i of Bs. 4,54,180) as against
Bs. 3,49,249 which has actually been debited to the
Service during 1922-23 on account of the upkeep of
the "Hearchus". Thus the Lighting and Buoying
Service will not only benefit by the proposal of the
government of India but will also have, in the
"Lawrence", the services of a new and powerful
vessel, which is capable of carrying out, for a
J J considerable number of years, the dual duties even
if tin Service is expanded. In the circumstances,
the Government of India adhere to the proposals put
forward in August last, which, in their opinion, are
not only fair and suitable but also economical.
