Government of India referred to the Audi tor-General. 'His
decision is that under the arrangement proposed, the total cost
of the maintenance of the vessel (exclusive of interest on
capital cost and of depreciation), vis. Es. 4 , 54,180 per annum,

the Government of India are prepared to waive their claim to
receive a moiety of the capital cost of the "Lawrence" from
His Majesty’s Government if the latter agree 1 o the retention
by the Government of India of the "Hearchus" without claiming
a refund of half the capital cost of this vessel.
